Thomas and Pully Need a Home!

Their mum writes:
Thomas is a charmer. He is 14. We adopted him from the SPCA in Prince George, so we know his age and that he was found in a dumpster in Wells, BC (near Barkerville) with his 2 little brothers. Thomas was hit by a vehicle quite early in his life which meant a broken leg, which he proceeded to re-break. As a result, he got quite "gun-shy" and overweight, and now has arthritis. He can still surprise us with a quick dash from time to time when he feels it is necessary. Now he mostly likes to patrol his route fairly near our place, and lie in his little bed on the patio or sprawl on the carpet inside. He has always been especially fond of the gas fireplace in the winter, and we always kept a chair next to the fire or some sort of seat for him on the hearth. He is also not a scratcher unless you are trying to give him medicine. He absolutely loves to cuddle and has one of the loudest purrs I've heard. He has a bit of a bad habit of wolfing down his kibbles and then vomiting shortly after.

We think Pully is about 16. She "adopted" us as a 1-2 year old stray when we were living in Prince George. She remains in excellent health, still quite playful, and she has always been one of the friendliest cats you could hope to meet. She is the kind of cat who runs out to the sidewalk to say hello to whoever is passing by. Wherever we have lived with her, all of our neighbours have gotten to know her before us ("oh, is that grey cat yours? she's so friendly!" - that kind of thing). She has also always been very gentle. Except for when we have tried to give her pills the odd time she has needed them, she has never put her claws out to us in anger or self-defence, other than to grip onto us if for example we are trying to put her somewhere she doesn't want to be (her carrying cage, for example). She will sometimes bat with her claws still retracted if she feels the need to make a point; we gave her the nickname "Velvet Paw" some time ago. She has certainly never scratched Sam, despite his occasional rough handling of her - she prefers to just keep her distance, although her curiosity and friendliness always get the better of her and she seems to want to be around him anyway. She loves being patted, brushed and cuddled.

I think Pully would be great in a home with children, but Thomas would probably be a bit unhappy. Sam is one of the gentlest kids around, but even his running in the house sends Thomas scattering. I don't know how they would be with other cats - particularly if introducing them into a setting where other cats were already established.

Thomas and Pully can be adopted seperately as they are not close friends. For more information contact:
